Dear anyone reading this on my little slice of the internet,
If you are on this page, that means you either intentionally came here or just happened upon one of my articles. Either way, I am incredibly grateful you are here. What you see now is the polar opposite of what I started this blog out to be.
You see, I am a perfectionist who is also the most indecisive person you will ever meet. As in, I will start a project, put my all into it, and then eventually hate everything about it and set my sights on something else.
However, I’m feeling pretty good about this right now. So no worries on this little slice of the internet going anywhere.
You might formally remember me as The Graceful Klutz. When I first started blogging, I had an urge to write about everything from travel to relationships to fashion. The problem was, I wasn’t genuinely passionate about all the topics I was talking about. Therefore, that blog became a black hole of anxiety I hated looking at.
You won’t find The Graceful Klutz anywhere because I pulled the plug a while ago. I stopped writing, started a job somewhere else, and put my dreams on hold for a while. During that time, I took a serious look inward. I found out what made me happy, what I was passionate about, and what I needed to cut out of my life to get to that place. After all this searching, I came to the conclusion that you are looking at right now.
And now we come to my Bethany Ashlyn blog.
What you see now is the cultivation of what I feel passionate about. PCOS, mental health, recipes, and skincare. Basically, wellbeing from the inside to the outside. These are all things that I have countlessly researched and continue to educate myself on every single day.
I wanted to share what I have learned with everyone else and, hopefully, help someone out in a particular struggle they might be trying to conquer.
So Who is this bethany Ashlyn?
Well, that is a question I’m not quite sure how to answer (but I’ll give it a try). I’m a 26-year-old female who hails from a state that is known to most for being in the Wizard of Oz. I have a younger brother who recently brought a beautiful girl into this world who has become my life. Like most people, I also have a mother who I look up to and love immensely.
I live with my fiance (we are getting married fall 2020!) in a quaint home located in a charming town that closely resembles Stars Hollow (name that show). My nerd comes out hard to Harry Potter… any book for that matter, am a known cinephilia, and I like to think of myself as the Midwest version of Martha Stewart. This also makes me delusional in thinking that… and I’m not BFF with Snoop.
Since I was a child, I have always loved writing and, to say as humble as possible, think I’m not horrible at it. Of course, my mother and fiance say I’m a good writer, so my audience is a tad biased.
With my love of writing also comes a love of mental health. I’ve always been obsessed with bettering myself physically and mentally but, after learning I had PCOS, that obsession multiplied. Like most people, I suffer from anxiety, health issues, and periods of sadness. I’ve always wanted to help people and, if one of my articles can do that, I will feel like this has been a successful journey.
I might not be certified and sometimes get things wrong. Still, I can always promise to give you my honest opinion and will research my heart out to find the best options and pieces of advice for you. If you ever want to reach out to chat, ask questions, or feel less alone, my internet door is always open.
